What Do Dads Really Want for Father’s Day?

(Reflections from a Daughter and a Seniors Real Estate Specialist)

As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist and, more importantly, a daughter of a senior, I see what most dads truly want—especially as they grow older—it isn’t more stuff, it is your time. Not gifts. Not gadgets.
Just you. A walk. A shared story. A cup of coffee. An updated photograph of you. These are the moments that mean everything. I’m very grateful that I continue to be able to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad. Each year is a gift. And each visit, each hug—matters more than I can say.

Working with older adults and their families, I see how connection often matters more than any to-do list or “perfect plan.” The best thing we can give our loved ones is our presence. So this Father’s Day, whether your dad is near or far, I hope you’ll pause and spend a little time—remembering, reminiscing, or simply being together. That’s what dads really want. With gratitude, Janet
