More Than Just a Move
I'm grateful for the like-minded clients I work with. I enjoy working with you and would love to work with more people like you! Who do you know looking for real estate advice, the facts so they can plan their next steps with confidence?  I work almost exclusively by word of mouth and referrals and I’d be honoured to guide them. I'm available for a good old fashion phone conversation, zoom meeting, or in-person chat over a cup of coffee or tea. After all, deciding to move is so much more than just a move!  #yourguidehelm #atthehelm #morethanjustamove #janethelm #senior #resize #downsize #rightsize #northvancouverrealestate #westvancouverrealestate #pittmeadowsrealestate #mapleridgerealestate #squamishrealestate

Audain Art Museum Visit
After a recent buying tour, and visit with family, Trev and I decided on a spur of the moment date afternoon which included a visit to the Audain Art Museum, which I can't believe I had yet to experience!  With an hour before closing the museum was oddly empty, due to the time of the day, so we enjoyed the exhibit all to ourselves. The building itself is stunning, designed by renowned architect firm Patkau Architects. Visit the Audain Museum website to read John Patkau’s introduction of the architecture as well as all about the vision and this unique museum in Whistler including fantastic photographs. The museum houses the Audain’s (Michael and Yoshiko’s) British Columbia art collection including an exceptional collection of historical Indigenous masks. The gift shop is well curated, featuring a selection of hand-crafted jewelry, ceramics, wood work and homeware by British Columbian artists. Trev took the opportunity to purchase a silver ring by Joe Descoteaux, An Orca, symbolizes long life, strength and bravery- that's my hubby! It was similar to a ring he lost years ago. He surprised me with a three-ring necklace by Mikel Grant as said it reminded him of himself and our 2 sons. Ahhh, right!? I purchased a funky pearl and rubber ring by local artist, Monica Gerwuz, well just because! Thank you for your philanthropic gifts Michael Audain and Yoshiko Karasawa. You can plan your visit by visiting the website and get involved by visiting, donating and volunteering. #artmatters #art #architecture #architects #wood #design #whistler #audainartmuseum #museum #bc #grateful

Why Curb Appeal Is So Important When Selling Your Home

Why is curb appeal so important when selling your home?

Buyers will first see your home on the internet and then most likely drive by before even contacting their Realtor for a showing request or attend the open house. A home that has excellent curb appeal inspires confidence for the buyers that your home is as well maintained on the inside.  In the case of this home I recently sold, the challenge was the house's exterior is older with a lot of character yes,  unfortunately, I knew it would be judged from the outside and possibly not get people inside to see the modern updates.  My strategy was to ensure the curb appeal, said, “welcome to this well cared for and updated home, come inside, look around, fall in love and make an offer! After my consultation with the homeowners, I shared my marketing strategy that I custom design for each client, which includes how their home is going to stand out, who we are going to market the home to,  and how we are going to attract the right buyers.  As well as providing professional staging advice, photographs, videos, and 3D floorplans, I always provide curb appeal suggestions- In this case,  I suggested for the sellers remove the tree out front, which was a simple and effective solution to start with.  I made a quick trip to the hardware store and replaced the exterior light and mailbox and added some plants,( ferns, grasses, and heavenly bamboo are a few of my faves.) These easy, almost free fixes did the trick! The client was thrilled with the result of selling fast and for top dollar! Overlooking your home’s curb appeal when putting it on the market is a mistake, one that can be the difference of selling or not! Considering selling? Have questions?
